Sheltered: Exploring the Antidote to Fear and Anxiety
- 7-9.15pm, Fri 21 August & 9am-5.15pm, Sat 22 August
For many, fear and anxiety are regular companions in life. For some a specific fear linked to a particular memory grips our heart. For others, anxiety lies in a deeper part of our being, having been embedded in our hearts at an early age. We attempt to deal with these situations ourselves, trying to cope by controlling our lives (and the lives of others) to avoid the discomfort of fear. In the course, we explore the nature, causes and impact of fear and anxiety. Our main focus, however, is highlighting God’s desire to show us the freedom that is available in Him when we fully trust Him with our worries. Then we can live in the safety and security of who God truly is - our strong shelter, our safe tower, the anchor for our hearts, the One who will never leave or forsake us.
Costs $25 (reduced rates available, please ask). Registration by phone (021 269 8384) or email: email@example.com
Testimonies from a previous course
"I knew that God was going to target anxiety this weekend, but He has lifted that and much more off me. I look forward to a new way."
"I had not put my trust in God so always felt fear and anxiety. The Lord gave me a picture of Jesus in the boat sleeping in the storm. I was jumping overboard in a lifeboat trying to sort things out in the storm. I should have stayed in the boat listening to God. Instead of trying to sort things out myself. The Lord said to rest in Him and see Him perform."
"I have been empowered and encouraged in understanding the gifts of peace and sound mind, versus fear of man. Fear is related to punishment and Jesus Christ has completely stepped forward and taken away my punishment."
