📅 Saturday 20 June

🕘 9:15am – 12:30pm

📍 Grace Vineyard Beach Campus

Steve planted what became the Evanston Vineyard in 1976 and led the church for 44 years. Under his leadership, the church became known for its deep commitment to the ministry of the Holy Spirit, church planting, and raising diverse, healthy communities of faith.

The Evanston Vineyard has helped plant ten congregations in the Chicago area and another fifteen churches in cities and nations around the world. Steve also led Vineyard USA’s church planting task force for more than twenty years.

Over the years, Steve has ministered to and trained church leaders across India, Australia, New Zealand, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Turkey, Lebanon, Brazil, Chile, Central Asia, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.

The Evanston Vineyard is a richly diverse congregation made up of people from more than 50 nations, with no single majority culture or ethnicity. Since 1986, the ministry of the Holy Spirit has remained a central strength and emphasis of the church.

In 2020, Steve handed leadership of the Evanston Vineyard to Ted Kim. Today, Steve and his wife Cindy spend much of their time travelling, encouraging younger pastors and leaders, and helping churches grow in the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Steve and Cindy live in Chicago and have three adult children and eight grandchildren.
